The family of Ronald L. Montgomery would like to announce his passing on August 29, 2025 at the age of 72.
Ron was born on January 23, 1953 in Camrose, Alberta to Gultrus and Minnie Montgomery. He was the last child with three older sisters, Ethel, Joyce, Hazel and a brother Donnie. Ron grew up in the Edberg, Donalda, Camrose area. One weekend he travelled to Biggar with a friend and met Shirley Kissick. They married in May of 1972. They had their son Ronnie in March of 1974 and son David in February of 1988.
The family enjoyed many camping trips together over the years and if it involved fishing that made it, even better.
Ron got his class 1license in 1983 and started driving for Biggar Transport. He stayed with them until his retirement.
Ron had some health issues over the years, but dealt with them positively and without complaining. This last battle with cancer was a tough one.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, his in laws, brother Donnie, and his oldest granddaughter Jordan and two nephews, Jason and Cody.
He is remembered fondly by his wife Shirley, son Ronnie his partner Trish, their children Joelle (her son Jasper) Christopher and Jessie, son David his children Effie and Benjamin. Three sisters Ethel, Joyce (Norm), Hazel brother in laws Gordon, Tom, Doug, Richard and Donnie. Sister in law Arlene and Nancy many nieces and nephews
At Ron’s request a private family burial was held at Biggar Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at the New Horizons Centre
