Larry Evans, born in Biggar on October 19, 1939 to Alfred and Emma Evans. Larry was raised in the Duperow area; he left school at an early age as he was needed at home to help his family.
He later worked for farmers in the area, helped build the current Oxborough Hall.
Larry also worked for Canadian Pacific Rail and then Canadian Nation Rail in track maintenance.
Larry married Carol on July 10, 1965 in Biggar. Larry and Carol moved to the farm in 1972 and then they took over Carol’s family farm in 1981 where they lived with his loving family until they retired from the farm and moved to Biggar in 2014.
Larry enjoyed playing cards, loved to dance, tinkering away in his shop, but his greatest pastime was his love of hunting.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carol, their children Craig (Gail) Philomena, Samantha, Jess, Jordan; Joey (Lori) Andrew, Paige, Kirsten, Rebecca; Denise Woloshyn (John) Carson, Aleisha, Josh; Marvin (Susan) Chloe; 6 great-children and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Emma and Alfred, 5 sisters and 1 brother. His Father and Mother in-law Andrew and Minnie Wagner.
A celebration of life for Larry will be held at the Biggar New Horizon’s on April 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
