Helen was born in Biggar, SK on May 23, 1975, raised by Margaret and Henry Silbernagel (Grandparents) surrounded by her aunts, uncles and other family. Her children were the light of her life. She gave birth to her first child Joseph Silbernagel on August 9,1994 and her second child Anissa Silbernagel on March 22, 1997. Anyone who knew Helen knew that she lived for her children.
As a single mother, Helen was very motivated to give her children the best life possible. She worked various jobs within the community to provide for her children. Some of these jobs included; volunteer firefighter at the Biggar Fire Department, bowling alley, golf course and Weasies Gourmet Blends. In Helen’s most recent working years she was the night-time manager/bartender at the Westwinds Hotel.
As time went on Helen’s health worsened due to the kidney disease she was born with. Sadly she had to give up working which wasn’t easy for her. In Helen’s spare time, on her good days, she began keeping herself busy with numerous activities. These activities included; restoring old furniture, crafting, baking, build flower, candy and fruit bouquets.
Amongst Helen’s greatest qualities, she was most known for her kind heart and willingness to help others. There’s nothing in this world that brought her more satisfaction than supporting and caring for those she loved, those she cared for and even people that were not in her day-to-day life Helen was one of the most selfless, tenderhearted souls that walked this earth. She would have done anything for who ever was in need. Helens will and passion to live kept her strong through all the years of pain and suffering that was endured. Although her situation being sick was beyond imaginably hard over the years, that did not stop her from wanting to be on this earth with those she cherished and held closest to her heart.
Helen will be greatly missed by her family, friends, community and whoever had the privilege of knowing this wonderful woman. Helen is forever remembered and deeply missed by her children Joseph Silbernagel, Anissa Silbernagel, Keith Silbernagel (brother), immediate and extended family and friends. Helen was pre-deceased by Katherine Silbernagel (Mom), Margaret and Henry Silbernagel (Grandparents), Thomas Silbernagel (Uncle), Collin Silbernagel (cousin) and special friends Kayden Knorr and Sarah Fraik.
