George Braithwaite

George Braithwaite was born in Biggar Hospital February 17,1954 to Parents James and Bertha Braithwaite. He had one brother Gary and sister Marilyn. George’s childhood was filled with adventures, growing up on farm was never boring. His love of the outdoors was set for life hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, all played an important role in who George was. George attended Landis School completing his Grade 12, then went to Saskatoon to continue education. George went to Kelsey in 1976 for the Farm Machinery Mechanics Program. George love of all things mechanical was evident. His career working in farm dealerships in Nipawin, Unity, Landis, where this allowed him to pass his journeyman papers in heavy equipment and MUMR as AG was not a journey trade at the time. George applied for a position at SAIT and began his career training AG and Heavy Equipment students. His teaching career lasted over 37 years.
George married Donna Hadley in 1989 and raised five children Jennifer, Jonathan, Jessica, James, Deanna. Sadly, Jonathan passed in 1994 and Donna in 2017.
George was a devoted husband, father; at work we heard many stories of family events, kid achievement, school issues and how as adults these kids were doing well.
George spent many years volunteering for scouts, organizing camps, canoe trips to help expose the youth to the wonders of the outdoor. George following his own path was true to himself George worked until he was hospilized,, a short stay there he decided to move on; sadly before he got to move to his new acreage at Landis.
George is survied by his stepdaughter Jennifer Hadley(Doug) daughter Jessica (Chris) and family Abigail, Charles, son James
daughter Deanna (Ladybug and Xena)
Brother Gary (Bev) and family Christine (Derek) Bella, Myla, Dan (Amy) Ethan, Savanah, Cheyenne, Alyssa, Sister Marilyn, Aunt Marie many cousins
George was predeceased by wife Donna (2017), Jonathan(1994), Father James(1999) Mother Bertha(2018)
We will always love him and he will forever be in our hearts.
The family of late George Braitwaite wish to express a Thank you to staff at St. Paul Hospital and Biggar Hospital for the care given to George’s last days. The Honor Guard at the church in Saskatoon to all friends that came to see him, also thank you to everyone for your kind words of sympathy, cards, telephone calls, flowers.
